As the DRIFTx exhibition showcasing the future of sustainable mobility took place at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from the 25th to the 26th (local time), local attendees experienced the autonomous driving solution by Autonomous a2z.

DRIFTx, a global exhibition showcasing the future of sustainable mobility encompassing air, land, and sea, is supported by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and Abu Dhabi's Smart Autonomous Vehicle Industry (SAVI) Cluster. It promotes innovative changes and cutting-edge information across all sectors, including advanced urban mobility, discussions, and collaborations.

Autonomous a2z, which develops autonomous mobility platforms, is participating from Korea. Bayanat, a leading provider of AI-based geographic spatial solutions in the UAE, invited them to this exhibition.

Autonomous a2z unveiled the 'a2z Remote Control System' at the exhibition site to enhance visitors' understanding of advanced mobility control technology. It's a system built to remotely control autonomous vehicles in K-City, an autonomous vehicle test facility in Hwaseong, South Korea, from a driver's seat-shaped playset installed in Abu Dhabi.

The significance of such remote driving systems lies in enabling control center intervention in situations where autonomous driving is impossible. Remarkably, even with a distance of up to 7000km between the control system and the actual driving vehicle, Autonomous a2z has demonstrated outstanding safety and stability, eliciting positive responses from global attendees. Furthermore, the a2z Remote Control System has set a new world record for the longest distance covered by existing remote driving and control systems.

A visitor to the event expressed surprise at Autonomous a2z's remote technology, asking, "Is the footage we're seeing now from South Korea?"

Another attendee remarked, "I was concerned about the safety implications of using autonomous vehicles for public transportation, but seeing that remote driving is possible even over such long distances reassures me that they can be used safely."
